Meet Lily

Hi, I'm Lily! I was born and raised in Colorado and have always been a huge animal advocate. I found my passion for animal welfare during my 3+ years of working for The Humane Society of Weld County. I held positions in many different departments while working at the shelter, but what brought me to where I am now was when I became the Behavior and Enrichment Coordinator. I worked alongside and trained with Molly to assess shelter dog's behavior needs and facilitate behavior modification to set them up for success in their adoptive homes. I love working with animals, it's always just clicked for me, but I had a difficult time explaining to the humans why the dogs were displaying these behaviors and how to help them along the way. I joined Underdog's mentorship program and it changed the way I understood and spoke about the behaviors that the dogs were displaying and each dog's individual needs. I could not have helped as many dogs find their new homes as I did if it wasn't for the mentorship giving me a deeper understanding of what our dog and human friends experience when managing and training unwanted behaviors. 

 

In my free time, my dog Venus and I completed Underdog's Take Two Group Class as well! After 6 years of her life focusing on just the basics, Take Two brought us closer together and helped me address things that she was struggling with that I had turned a blind eye to. 

 

I am extremely grateful to be a part of this team and watch Molly and Coral help people understand their dog's needs on a deeper level.
